English: Aviemore in snow For once looking like a ski resort. I have to be honest, for many years I considered Aviemore to be a total dump, something post industrial out of the central belt dumped into Strathspey. In recent years however it has somewhat reinvented itself and is beginning to resemble a Canadian ski resort, which I think is the idea.
The main engine of growth however was the expansion of the nearby boom town of Inverness - Aviemore has grown enormously as a commuter town and is an ever present threat to the beautiful forests that surround it, Aviemore just kept growing. |
