Deutsch: Der Wellenbalken stellt den Bezug des Ortes zur Lage an der Ems dar, das Steuerrad ist ein Sinnbild für die seit Jahrhunderten betriebene Schifffahrt auf der Ems und die Pflugschar steht für den überwiegend bäuerlichen Charakter der Gemeinde. Genehmigt am 16. Juli 1960.
English: The arms were officially granted on July 16, 1960. The arms show the Ems river, with a plough as a symbol for agriculture and a ship's steering wheel, as a symbol for shipping. Granted on 16 July 1960.
