of thedead for the sake of the living, Mary Shelley had passedaway, and was resting in Bournemouth churchyard, theburial-place nearest to the home of her only survivingchild. In order that parents and daughter might resttogether, the remains of Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraftwere transferred to the same spot by their grandson,in whose house, enshrined in a silver urn, are the ashes ofhis father.
