Harkaitz Cano is a Basque writer. He was born in Lasarte-Oria in 1975. He is not only a famous writer, but a TV and cinema scripwriter. Moreover, he has also done some translations of many English books into Basque and he has also translated almost all his bibliografy into Spanish [1].

Harkaitz has always been a book fanatic, when it comes to both, reading and writing. While he was studing at high school, he won three consecutive Urrazno prizes. Having finished his high school studies, he started an university degree on Law in Donostia. This degree was a hobby for him because he already knew he wanted to be a writer. This is why he wrote his first poetry book, Kea behilainopean (1994), while he was at university. At the age of 23, he moved to New York and wrote his second novel named Pasaia blue (1999). New York’s caracteristic are very common on his books. He has written in many different styles such as poetry, novels and young literature.

As a writer he has won many prizes: Donostia Hiria (1993), Ignacio Aldekoa (1998), twice Euskadi Literatura Saria and etc.
