Object history
Deutsch: Hohenroth gehörte zum königlichen Salzforst, der im Jahr 1000 an das Hochstift Würzburg kam. Die Fürstbischöfe ließen hier ihre herrschaftlichen Rechte durch hochstiftische Beamte ausüben. Die Forstmeister von Lebenhan-Rothenkolben hatten lange dieses Amt inne. Daran erinnern die gekreuzten Streitkolben aus dem Wappen dieser Familie. Die Lilie ist dem Wappen der Herren von Ebersberg gen. Weyhers entnommen. Dieses 1288 erstmals erwähnte Adelsgeschlecht ist 1847 erloschen. 1373 kam der halbe Ort Hohenroth an die Herren von Weyhers. Die Wellenteilung weist auf den bei Hohenroth gelegenen See hin.
