Margaret Marian McPartland, jaiotzez Margaret Marian Turner (Slough, Ingalaterra; 1918ko martxoaren 20a-Port Washington, Nueva York; 2013ko abuztuaren 20a), jazz musikagile, piano-jotzaile eta idazle britainiarra izan zen. 1978tik Estatu Batuetako National Public Radio katean Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz saioa aurkezten zuen. Bizitzan zehar sari asko jaso zuen.[1]
Estiloa[aldatu | aldatu iturburu kodea]
Marian McPartlandek estandarren ezagutza handia zuen, musika-belarri handia. 1960ko hamarkadan jazzaren bilakaeran oso sartuta egon zen eta esperientzia handia lortu zuen irratian. Horrek guztiak bere piano estiloari laguntzen zion, «malgua eta konplexua eta etiketatzea ia ezinezkoa» zela zeritzotena.[2]
Horrez gain, Marianek sinestesiarako dohaina zuen, hots, soinuak eta koloreak lotzeko gaitasuna, beraz, beretzat “D-ren klabea horia da, Si maiora borgoña, Si bemol urdina». "Ez dut sentitzen inoiz nire estilorik izan dudanik", aitortu zuen 2004an.[3]
