I just created this bug I recently noticed when an article has mw-indicators: T287017
The option for interwiki linking is gone. The problem is tracked here: T282026. This should be taken as a really important issue.
Quite right! As you have already noticed, in a separate task, the team is investigating how to restore this functionality.
I would suggest to rise the priority of this task, as most editors don't understand now how to do this simple and routinary task.
