Roger C. Schank (1946- ) Socratic Arts erakundeko presidentea, hezkuntza sistemetan aldaketa sakonen sustatzailea eta inteligentzia artifizial kontuetan aditua.

Schank Yale Universityn irakasle ibili da urtetan informatika eta psikologia alorretan the Yale Artificial Intelligence Project, Yale Unibertsitateko Inteligentzia Artifizialeko proiektu nagusiaren zuzendari izan da. 1989an Northwestern University-ra igaro zen Institute of Learning Sciences Ikasketaren Zientzien Institutua, gidatzeko. Gero Learning Sciences Corporation erakundeko fundatzaile hasieran eta gidari ibili zen, (geroago [Cognitive Arts] izenarekin ezagutuko zen hura).

Schank [[inteligentzia artifizial] alorrean 1970 eta 1980 hamarkadetan ekarpen interesgarriak egin zituen baita psikologia kognitibo alorrean ere. Schank-en berrikuntza nabarmenetakoa alor hauetan arrazoinamenduan oinarrituriko paradigma case based reasoning eta memoria dinamikoa. Bi kontzeptuek aurretik onartzen ziren ikuspegiak aldatzea eskatzen zuten.

Ikasketa prozesuei buruz egindako ikerketen ondorioz, Roger C. Schank learning-by-doing hori sutsu defendatu du mundu osoan zehar, hitzaldietan eta hedabideetan emandako elkarrizketetan. Learning-by-doing horren sustatzaile ezagunetakoa bihurtu da munduan.
