Translation Request: Austrian writer Klaus Ebner[aldatu iturburu kodea]
Hello. I see that there is no Basque page about the Austrian author Klaus Ebner, which I regret. As contributor writing about contemporary Austrian literature in the German, English and Catalan Wiki pages, I would like to kick off the translation of one of the pages, namely about the Viennese author Klaus Ebner, to the Basque language. A page of this author already exists in more than 20 Wiki languages. Meetup about and around less resourced languages[aldatu iturburu kodea]
Hi, some of you might already know that we are going to have a meeting about and around less resourced languages on 31st of May 2008, which among others involves the Wikimedia projects, in particular Wikipedia. For most less resourced languages Wikipedia is the first collaborative project. We will talk also about tools, like Apertium which can help a lot, and about Betawiki for the localization of the User Interface of not only Wikipedias, but all Mediawiki projects in general. Furthermore you will be able to know about activities like the Open Nursery project which collects and creates contents, concentrating on less resourced languages, how elders work together with young people to keep their language alive, about kids in Africa who may not use their mother tongue at school. You will have the possibility to watch videos about topics which reach from how the UN and UNESCO see the actual language pictures to projects like a grammar checking engine, a successful localization project and some more topics.
Of course, all of you are invited to meet up with us in Cherasco (yes, there is a Wiki-Camp available) and those who cannot come are invited to follow us on web-tv (we are not sure now if we will be live or if the presentations will be online as soon as possible after they are on, but in any case you will be able to watch or the videos with relevant information or see us live.

En primeras perdón por no charrar ixa polita luenga que ye o euskera (e ya me cuacarba charrar-la ;-)), pero tos charraré en aragonés que suposo que toz me entenderez :-) No sé mui bien que politica emplegaz ta os exonimos en a wikipedia en euskara, nusatros alcordamos en a nuestra wiki seguir una politica ta toponimia de difueras d'Aragón que ye emplegar en primer puesto o nombre tradizional en aragonés si esiste e ye decumentato á lo menos en fuents meyebals, asinas tenemos toponimos como San Per d'Ibarra, Espeleta, Bilbau u Ronzesbals que son tradizionals u los emos puesto decumentar asinas en testos aragoneses u nabarro-aragoneses... bi ha buena ripa, ya que somos bezins e as siempre se fan más adaptazions de toponimos bezins que no por exemplo d'un toponimo de Alemaña u Portugal. A segunda ozión si no esiste o toponimo tradizionalment en aragonés ta nusatros ye prou platera, s'ha d'alzar o toponimo orichinal en a luenga bernacula, por exemplo Altsasu (e no pas Alsasua), Beskoitze (e no pas Briscous) u Getxo (e no pas Guecho)... asinas que no emplegamos o toponimo en a luenga dominant, sino en a luenga bernacula propia d'o país, en iste caso lo euskera, pero femos o mismo en a resta de puestos (oczitán en Oczitania, catalán en Cataluña/País Balenzián/Balears, asturián en Asturias). D'atra man cheneralment isto no gosa fer-se con l'aragonés en cuasi denguna wikipedia. Si que se fa en a wiki oczitana, que creigo que ye a unica que rispeta a nuestra luenga dica güé (por exemplo Alquezra u O Pueyo de Tena en cuentas de meter Alquézar u Pueyo de Jaca que son nombres castellans). A custión ye por qué no se puet tamién meter o nombre d'os nuestros lugars en a nuestra luenga como tetulo en a resta de Wikis, á lo menos como siñal de rispeto ta uns lugars á on istas son as denominazions tradizionals e que encara la chent fa serbir (por exemplo Chistén, L'Aínsa (ofizial), Lo Grau (ofizial), Casbas de Uesca (ofizial), Canfrán u Pandicosa) muitas begatas más que os nombres escritos en una luenga forana e que no se identifica con os suyos abitants ni a suya luenga (Gistaín, Aínsa, El Grado, Casbas de Huesca, Canfranc, u Panticosa). Yo proposo que ta estar coderents e rispetar os toponimos orichinals (profés si no existe toponimo en euskera) d'istos puestos (nomás toz aquels definitos como aragonesofablants en a Lai de Luengas d'Aragón (an:Idioma_aragonés#Situazión)) se meta o tetulo de l'articlo en aragonés e que dimpués aparexca o nombre en castellán como s'ha feito en a wiki occitana. - Kaixo. Algunos ya me conoceis por algunas preguntas que he hecho aquí o correcciones puntuales. Respaldo totalmente las palabras de Willtron y pido una comprensión que supongo que tendremos, puesto que el idioma vasco ha sufrido también una persecución y un desinterés oficial y muchos topónimos vascos desaparecieron de los mapas oficiales durante siglos. En el caso aragonés el desinterés oficial continua, siendo no sólo una herramienta para terminar de matar al idioma, sino lo que es peor, hacer pensar a la sociedad aragonesa que nunca ha existido para que no desarrollen un movimiento identitario con una fuerza comparable al vuestro. Algunos topónimos oficiales en castellano son el producto normal de la castellanización que se produjo en la sociedad, (Ejea, Gelsa, Juslibol, Torrecilla, Torrijo, Ojos Negros, etc...), y son los que predominan en la Ribera Navarra, Zaragoza, Teruel y Comarcas Churras. Sin embargo como ocurre en Euskal Herria, Cataluña y Valencia, muchos de los topónimos oficiales en castellano fueron inventos por parte de eruditos o incluso gente no tan erudita de la administración que despreciaban la cultura y características linguísticas de la comunidad para la que trabajaban. Así por ejemplo O Lumo que viene del latín LUMBUS lo tradujeron como El Humo, Bal Madriz que viene del latín VALLEM MATRICEM lo tradujeron como Val Madrid por parecido con la capital española, y no son ejemplos aislados. Pido solidaridad a los wikipedistas euskaldunes para que el título de las localidades oscenses esté en aragonés a excepción de las que tengan nombre vasco, como es el caso de la localidad zaragozana de Sos del Rey Católico que en roncalés es Suesa.--ERDALDUN-EBROKO 14:26, 17 Azaroa 2008 (UTC)
