Melanie Reizes Klein (Viena, 1882ko martxoaren 20a- Londres, 1960ko irailaren 22a) austriar psikoanalista izan zen eta funtzionamendu psikikoaren teoriaren aitzindaria. Horrez gain, teoria psikoanalisiaz baliatuz, haurren garapenaren inguruko hainbat ekarpen egin zituen eta psikoanalisiaren ikastetxe ingelesa sortu zuen.

Melanie Reizes, geroago Klein abizena eskuratu zuena, Vienan jaio zen, bere aita, Moriz Reizes, familia xume eta judutar batetik zetorren. Bere lehenengo emakumetik banandu ostean, Libussa Deutsch ezagutu zuen, zeinekin geroago ezkondu zena. 1876. urtean Emilie jaio, 1877an Emanuel eta hurrengo urtean Sidone. Melanie la urte zituenan, bere anaia Sidone hil zen tuberlukosia zela eta. Honek Melanierengan irakurketaren eta matematiken interesa piztu zuen.
