Mirandornithes (Sangster, 2005^[1]) flamenkoak eta txilinportak batzen dituen hegazti klado bat da. Klado honen taldekatzea zaila izan da, historian zehar flamenkoak Neognathaeren barruko hainbat adarretan jarri baitira, adibidez ahateekin edo zikoinekin. Txilinportak, bestetik, aliotekin taldekatu dira. Hala ere, azken aldian egindako ikerketa morfologikoek zein genetikoek ebatzi dute bi leinu hauek ahaideak direla^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5].

Bi adarren arbaso fosilak oso moldatuta daude bizimodu urtarrerako. Horregatik pentsatzen da biak arbaso urtar batetik eratorri zirela.
