Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (Zürich, 1926ko uztailaren 8a – Scottsdale, Arizona, 2004ko abuztuaren 24a) psikiatra suitzar-estatubatuarra izan zen. Aitzindaria izan zen heriotzetik hurbileko pertsonak ikertzen, eta lan ugari idatzi bazuen ere mundu mailan ezagun bihurtu zen "On Death and Dying" (1969; "Heriotzaz eta hiltzeaz") erreferentziazko liburuarekin. Bertan plazaratu zuen terminaltasun egoeran dagoen gaixoek psikologikoki igarotzen dituzten bost faseak, gaixotasuna onartu arte. Bere lana oinarrizkoa izan zen medikuntza paliatiboa garatzeko.

Medikuntza bere jaioterriko unibertsitatean lizentziatu zen 1957an, eta urte bat geroago AEBetara joan zen bizi eta lan egitera. Besteak beste eta bere kalkuluen arabera 1982rako 125.000 ikasle ingururi irakatsi zien heriotzaren prozesuaz ikastetxe, fakultate, ospitale eta bestelako zentroetan zehar.

Ohorezko doktore izendatu zuten AEBetako hainbat unibertsitatetan.
