Beit Wazan (arabieraz: بيت وزن) Nablus probintziako herrixka palestinarra da, Zisjordaniaren iparraldean, Nablusetik 4,5 kilometro mendebaldera. Palestinako Estatistika Bulego Zentralaren arabera, 1.312 biztanle zituen 2017an[1].
Etimologia
[aldatu | aldatu iturburu kodea]Beit Wazan «Udhenen etxea» bezala itzultzen da arabieratik[2]. Udhen izena Uden, Uzen[3] edo Awzan bezala idazten zen batzuetan[4], eta gaur egungo idazkera Wazan da. Beit Wazango kontseiluak dio Wazan herriko buruzagi ohi baten emaztearen izena zela[5].
Yitzhak Ben-Zviren arabera, samariarrek Beit Zein deitzen diote herrixkari[6].
Geografia
